BE A KEEPER KID AT THE TENNESSEE AQUARIUM

Stop by the lobby of River Journey to sign up for a behind-the-scenes Keeper Kids activity. These fun-filled events are FREE with Aquarium admission and available on a first-come, first-served basis. You could meet the vet, feed otters, turtles and partridges, release butterflies or be a SCUBA assistant. You'll also find additional engaging experiences in River Journey and Ocean Journey throughout the day.

Ocean Journey Keeper Kids experiences:

• release butterflies
• feed partridges and Palawan peacock pheasant
• prep food for the Ray Buffet and feed stingrays
• make enrichment items for the hyacinth macaws
• go behind the scenes with SCUBA divers
• help feed some of the animals in the Secret Reef
• record penguin observations behind the scenes

River Journey Keeper Kids experiences:

• feed the otters
• feed trout
• observe an animal encounters training session
• meet the Aquarium veterinarian (M, W, Fri only)
• delve into a working biology research lab
• assist with sea turtle enrichment
• help feed animals in the Gulf of Mexico or Lake Nickajack exhibit
• prepare an essential dietary supplement for aquatic species
• feed turtles in the Delta Swamp

Spring Break Williams Island Family Adventure Cruises aboard the River Gorge Explorer

Zip downstream aboard the Tennessee Aquarium's River Gorge Explorer on a new excursion that will add some excitement to your family's spring break. The Williams Island Family Adventure Cruise takes passengers to "the Gateway to the Gorge." During each 90-minute adventure, the young and young at heart will discover Native American and Civil War history, and gain insights into the wildlife that call this wooded island home. Time will be spent on each trip observing an osprey nest and heron rookery. Your naturalist guide helps locate other animals and leads an on-board scavenger hunt. These cruises will depart daily March 12th to April 17th from the Chattanooga Pier. Special Spring Break pricing will be offered for these cruises: $20/per person (age 3 and up), $18/per person under age 3.
